- • In 1994 he received the Engineer Diploma in electrical engineering from University of Damascus, Syria
- • In 2005 he received the Ph.D. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy
- • In 2004, for some months, he was a visiting research student at Ecole Polytechnique Fèdèrale de Lausanne, Switzerland
- • In a period of time from 2005 to 2008 he worked with a group named image processing lab at Politecnico di Torino
- • In 2008, for around two months, he joined a group named digital media lab at SungKyunKwan University, Republic of Korea
- • In 2008 he joined Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China
- • In 2017 he joined Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy
- • In 2021 he joined Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology-Delhi
