Dr. Abhijit Mitra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) at IIIT-Delhi. He holds a PhD (2017) from IIT Delhi, supported by the British Telecom Fellowship. His professional experience spans over a decade, focusing on modeling and network planning for metro and core optical networks. He has published in major venues including the Proceedings of the IEEE, optical communications journals, and international conferences (OFC, ECOC). He has led funded research projects through DST, MIETY, and DRDO as principal or co-investigator. He is a recipient of the DST Inspire Faculty Fellowship (2017-2022), British Council Professional Achievement Award (2019), and was selected for Fulbright Post Doctoral Research Fellowship from USIEF. His expertise concentrates on multi-band optical networks, space division multiplexing, and quantum key distribution technologies.
