Admission Process:
Once or twice a year, typically in May (for Aug semester) and Nov/Dec (for Jan semester), major admission process will be done. Schedule and details of these will be announced each time. Last round of admissions were held in April-May 2011, which is now over.
Rolling admissions, which are open throughout the year, are also possible. Rolling admissions are mostly meant for candidates who have a clear idea of the area they want to work in and have interacted with the concerned faculty member(s) in IIIT-Delhi who have also shown interest in working with him/her. However, such candidates will undergo a full selection process before being admitted to the PhD program.
For rolling admissions, an eligible candidate can apply by sending an application to the faculty member of the institute who he/she has been interacting with - the application must include the C.V. and other relevant information. The faculty member may forward it to the standing committee for rolling admissions. The admission committee will then evaluate the candidate’s credentials, and, if desired, invite him/her for the selection process, which will be a combination of written test, programming test, and interviews. If the date for the next major admission is nearby, the candidate may be advised to apply through it.
