Are you a talented and experienced Software Engineer and want an opportunity to teach bright and young students about Engineering? If so, this opportunity may be for you.

IIIT-Delhi, a leading research focused institute in Okhla, Delhi, would like to invite experienced and talented practicing engineers who want to share their knowledge with young and budding engineers, to teaching programming oriented courses in the Institute, like Intro to Programming, Advanced Programming, Software Engineering, etc.

The applicant must be a software engineer with deep programming and software development skills with at least 10 years experience, and good educational background.  In addition, the person should have excellent communication skills and capability to handle large class – for teaching, conducting tutorials and labs, etc. In addition, the specific technical skills needed for different courses are:

  •  Solid knowledge of and experience in Python: for “Intro to Programming”
  •  Solid knowledge and experience in Java and OO: for “Advanced Programming”
  •  Good programming experience in various languages and experience in managing projects: for “Software Engineering”

The association is envisaged to be part-time (as guest faculty), and for interested candidates, contractual full time appointment may be considered. For this, the Institute is willing to engage with the candidate’s company for suitable arrangements, if desired. Each course requires about 3 hours of lectures per week, and another 3 hours for tutorials, office hours, and lab coordination (i.e. appx two half days a week of effort.) TA support will be provided for conducting labs and grading assignments under the Instructor’s supervision. Good compensation/honorarium will be provided for teaching (around Rs 50,000 per month for a course.)
