Evaluation of Diode Linearization Algorithms Diodes are often used as detectors in wireless receivers. However the emergence of various wireless standards put strain on the ability of the diode detectors to successfully operate under high PAPR stimulus. This project aims to study and possibly demonstrate (and enhance) some commonly used algorithms for linearizing diode detectors. |

Estimating coherence misses in single chip multiprocessors (CMP) Coherence misses are due to shared data between caches. There are true as well as false sharing. One needs to characterize the misses to understand the data dependency better. In this project, we will attempt to model misses due to coherence request from different caches. |
Dr. Subhasis Banerjee |
Number of interns: 2 Basic understanding of processor architecture, C/C++ programming
|
|
Augmenting microarchitectural support in high performance network switches We will explore performance and power optimization strategies on a prototype FPGA implementation of high performance network switch. |
Dr. Subhasis Banerjee |
Number of interns: 2 Basic understanding of computer network, processor architecture, C/C++ programming |
|
Establishment of MAC DTS Date and time stamp are most crucial digital evidence in any digital forensic estimation. In this work we will build loadable kernel module for EXT4 and Android file system. |
Dr. Gaurav Gupta |
Number of interns: 2 Proficiency in Linux Kernel Programming |
|
Digitized Document Frauds Digitized document frauds require identification of printing and scanning device used in generation of counterfeit documents including currency notes. We would find parameters to automate detection and fixing of counterfeit documents. |
Dr. Gaurav Gupta |
Number of interns: 1 Very good Image processing skills and should be conformable using C# and EMGU-CV library (Open CV) |
|
Privacy Preserving Forensic Investigation Privacy Preserving Forensic Investigation would help in reducing the total investigation time of computer frauds and cyber-crime. The work will also ensure that framework would ensure privacy of accused. |
Dr. Gaurav Gupta |

IVR System FreeSWITCH is an open source software for hosting voice applications. It has interface to combine it with Speech recognition software to support speech recognition in voice applications. Students are expected to integrate the speech recognition software like Sphinx with FreeSWITCH. They may require to train the speech recognition engine on data collected in previous IIIT-D IVR deployments. |
Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Dr. Pushpendra Singh (PhD Student advisers: Siddhartha Asthana) |
Number of interns: 2 (working in a single group) + 1 (for video integration in IVR) A good knowledge of C, Java and Linux. Linux will be the default platform for deployment and development. All the Opensource software used in this work are written in C. Tweaking them (Open Source Software) requires a good knowledge of C. Students are also expected to have a working knowledge of Java for development of new IVR applications. |
