This 3 day Indo-US workshop was held here at IIIT-Delhi on Friday 10th, 11th and 12th with the primary objective of creating awareness in improving teaching and learning methods in university/college level.  The Indian educational system needs a revamping to keep up with the growing educational crisis. This workshop disseminated some of the best teaching practices that help students indulge in innovative learning, gathered from around the world. This event was jointly organized with University of Buffalo and sponsored by the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum.

The workshop observed some of the eminent philosophistsand educationists, including Dr. Jason of University of Buffalo, Dr. Lucinda of State University of New York and many others, converging and putting forth their thoughts into one. The 3-days covered a variety of topics including the effectiveness of lecture hours, the importance of course design, the necessity of having good assessment mechanisms and a lot more. There were two exclusive panel discussions that focussed on specific topics like MTech Certificate Program and initiation of new teaching centres in India. In a session conducted for students, the various hurdles that students face in their learning activities were addressed.

The second day of the workshop had a cultural event in the evening followed by a banquet dinner. In the third day all the interested delegates were taken for an all-Delhi tour. This workshop clubbed the two sides of the coin of teaching and learning and also brought together different ideologies of teaching from around the globe.

Linda from Clemson University said “India will be friendly to these new methods of teaching …” and this workshop stood as an example for it.
