ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) program to be launched in 2012
IIIT-Delhi's mission is to become a globally respected institution for research and education in Information Technology and allied areas. It started with programs in CSE, and is about to launch its ECE programs in academic program 2012.
The institute currently has one adjunct professor and five regular faculty members with EE/ECE background and is looking to hire several more to support its education and research programs in ECE. There will be a recruitment drive in early 2012 to be held in USA specifically held to recruit ECE/EE faculties (details are here). Prof. Sumit Roy of University of Washington has been appointed as External Consulting Chairman for building strong research groups in various areas of ECE.
Updated 20th April, 2012: IIIT-Delhi is launching ECE programs at all levels, as B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. from academic year 2012. The M.Tech. program will have a specialization in VLSI and Embedded Systems. Curriculum and other details of these programs will be soon available on the website. Admissions to these programs will be conducted in the next few months and details about them will be available on the admission webpages.
