Logo and Wordmark Design Contest

Results

Thanks for participating in the contest. The committee has looked at each entry carefully but found none of the submitted entries suitable. The committee has also decided to give Rs. 2500 as a token of appreciation to each of the following contestants. IIIT-Delhi will contact each one of you soon.

    1. Based on the description of the institute given below, do the following:

      1. Design a logo. The height and width of the logo should be approximately equal. The logo should look nice in black & white. The logo should be clearly recognizable in small sizes such as icon. The name of the institute should appear as I I I T – Delhi or IIIT-Delhi.

      2. Create an interesting typographical representation (font, color and style) of IIIT-Delhi that can be used on letter heads and notice boards. It is known as wordmark.Name of our institute is IIIT-Delhi that you can abbreviate as IIIT-D. You are required to use a font from public domain.

      These two things together will form graphic identity of the Institute. The logo should capture the mission of our Institute and establish graphic identity.

      Rules:

      1. The contest is open to all (students as well as professionals) who are interested in using their creativity and imagination.
      2. The last day for submitting the designs are 15 April 2010.
      3. A participant can send more than one entries but each should be a separate file..
      4. You must use a software for designing the logo and for designing the wordmark.
      5. The design must be submitted in high quality editable images (such as svg, ai, psd formats). These will become property of IIIT-Delhi. You maylso provide a brief write up of half a page describing your design.
      6. The participant will enter his/her name in this agreement indicating that the design is original and does not violate copyright laws.
      7. IIIT-D will form a panel of judges to pick the most appropriate logo. The judgment of the panel will be final. The panel may decide not to pick any of the submitted designs.
      8. The winner will be given a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and two runner ups will be given Rs. 10,000 each.

      I I I T - Delhi

      The I I I T - Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) is a State University craeted by Delhi Government empowering it to do research and development and grant degrees.

      The mission of IIIT-Delhi is to be a global centre of excellence in Information Technology education, training and research. Its twin aims are:

      • To carry out advanced research and development in information and software technologies, and in leveraging IT in specific domain areas.
      • To train and educate, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, engineers of outstanding ability who can become innovators and new product creators.

      It aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in specified domain areas of IT.
