Hostel Accommodation

Currently, IIIT-Delhi requests NSIT for hostel accommodation for its students. Only few rooms are available in NSIT hostel for IIIT-Delhi students. Preference will be given to outside Delhi students and then to Delhi students in the order of distance to the institute. Students staying in the hostel would be required to comply with all the rules and regulations and pay the hostel charges as per NSIT schedule (given below). IIIT-Delhi plans to shift to its permanent campus in Okhla (hopefully by the middle of 2012) and there it will have sufficient hostel accommodation.

How to Apply

The application process for hostels in the NSIT campus is directly communicated by the Admission Office to all students. Since the number of hostel seats are limited, not every student can be guaranteed a seat. The selection criteria is given below.

The selected students (after informed by the Admission Office) are required to fill this form, pay the necessary charges (as given below) and submit the form and the receipt of the fees to the Admission Officer to be actually alotted a room.

Order of Priority

  1. PhD
  2. M.Tech TA
  3. B.Tech First Year Outside Delhi
  4. B.Tech + M.Tech all years Outside Delhi
  5. Inversely proportion to the distance of residence

Exceptions can be made on the following grounds:

  1. Medical  Grounds
  2. As per availability of single seater and double seater, first and second year students will be accommodated in double seater and remaining in single respectively.

Hostel Charges

One time fees (during admission)
1. Mess security deposit * 2000/-
2. Hostel security deposit * 2000/-
3. Furniture security deposit * 1000/-

Per semester fees
1. Hostel room rent 2000/-
2. Electricity and water charges 500/-
3. Hostel/Mess establishment/Services and maintenance fee 500/-
4. Mess advance 6200/-
  Total 9200/-

Note:

  1. Total fees to be paid during admission is Rs 14200/- (one time fees of Rs 5000/- and fees for the first semester Rs 9200/-).
  2. Fees are to be paid only after allotment of room.
  3. The Mess charges will be on actual basis and will be borne by the student.
  4. (*) Security deposits: Refundable on vacating hostel.
  5. These fees is subject to revision from time to time and can be paid in cash/demand-draft in favor of Director IIIT-Delhi.
