Dr. Abir Das is Ph.D. degree holder in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Riverside, USA in 2015. He received his M.S. and B.E. degrees in the same subject from University of California, Riverside, USA in 2013 and Jadavpur University, India in 2007 respectively. After completing his PhD, he pursued his postdoctoral research in University of Massachusetts, Lowell and Boston University from 2015 to 2018.
His main research interests include multi-camera person re-identfication and video summarization, end-to-end video description and activity detection as well as explainable AI using machine learning based methods. He has published several scientific works in international journals and refereed international conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for many prestigious international conferences and journals e.g., Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS), IEEE conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV), IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (PAMI) etc.
